Free Lorem Ipsum Placeholder Text Generator

When you're designing a website, drafting a brochure, or building a user interface, you rarely have the final copy ready. That's where Lorem Ipsum comes in. Our fast, customizable generator provides you with beautiful, nonsensical Latin placeholder text so you can focus on typography and layout.

Why Do Designers Still Use Lorem Ipsum?

Using real English text as a placeholder often distracts clients. They start reading the text and critiquing the grammar instead of reviewing the visual design. Lorem Ipsum provides a natural-looking distribution of letters and word lengths that mimics real content, without any of the distracting meaning.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Lorem Ipsum actually translate to?

It is not entirely random gibberish! It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC by Cicero called "De finibus bonorum et malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil). However, over the centuries, typesetters scrambled the words, removed syllables, and added nonsense terms so that it is essentially meaningless Latin today.

Is this the standard text used by Adobe and professional agencies?

Yes. We use the universally recognized standard Lorem Ipsum passage beginning with "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet". This ensures your mockups look professional and familiar to any agency director or client reviewing them.
